The Berkshire League girls tournament gets underway Saturday at Northwestern Regional High.
Here are a few of the top players to watch for during the event:
Sam Conti, Nonnewaug
The freshman has emerged as one of Nonnewaug’s top scoring options, averaging 8.8 ppg. She scored 16 points in a pivotal win over Northwestern on Feb. 11. If she keeps it up the Chiefs will be hard to beat in the tourney.
Morgan Plitt, Northwestern
The sharp-shooting freshman has been one of Northwestern’s most reliable scorers, averaging 9.6 ppg and coming up with big 3-pointers when needed. The big stage has yet to throw her off her game.
Sydnee Eggleton, Thomaston
The sophomore is the Golden Bears’ leading scorer (10.6 ppg) and is the driving force to their success. Listed at 5-10 by the CIAC, she can use her height to control the boards and give Thomaston precious second-chance points.

Lucy Puskas, Shepaug
The Spartans’ lone senior came up big in late season wins, scoring 10 in a win over Housatonic on on Feb. 4 and led all scorers with 17 in a win over Nonnewaug last Friday. She’d love to end her BL run with a tournament victory.

Tori Dodge, Housatonic
The Mountaineers will need a second scorer behind Sydney Segalla, and Dodge has been the most consistent threat all season with 8.6 ppg. The sophomore helps run the offense out of the backcourt and can set up scoring chances for everyone else.
