With just one game remaining in the regular season, there is still a lot to be decided in the Berkshire League girls basketball race.
Nonnewaug has clinched a share of the BL title and can wrap it up outright with a win over Gilbert Thursday. But the Chiefs have already clinched the top seed in the BL tournament by virtue of tiebreakers over both Northwestern and Thomaston, who face off to determine the No. 2 seed, and potentially a share of the BL crown should the Yellowjackets prevail over Nonnewaug.
Litchfield is the No. 8 seed and will face Nonnewaug in the quarterfinals.
Gilbert and Wamogo are also still battling it out for the No. 6 seed. The Warriors play Housatonic and would own a tiebreaker over the Yellowjackets if they finish with the same record.
The BL tournament starts Saturday at Northwestern High, beginning with the No. 2 vs. No. 7 matchup at 1 p.m. Other games are scheduled for 2:30 (No. 3 vs. No. 6), 4:30 (Nonnewaug vs. Litchfield) and 6 (Shepaug vs. Housatonic).
